What a day today turned out to be! My husband was in a car accident this afternoon so our car became promptly unavailable. He’s safe an unharmed so we’re all very thankful. My friend Lia came to the rescue and brought us lunch and then drove me to the photoshoot for the City of Edmonton mid afternoon. She took Linnea for a walk in the stroller and about midway through the session we decided to use Linnea as a little baby model in one of the shots that you’ll see. She’s sitting in an old baby cradle. It was great to work again with you Jan and to meet Holly and Barrie. Thanks Aaron for your help and work on today’s shoot. Here are some of my favorite images. Thanks again Lia for driving me and taking care of Linnea. You’re such a wonderful friend!!

I had such a wonderful visit and shoot with Clint this morning. He’s a new realtor with The Schmidt Realty Group. Here’s his new headshot. It was so great to meet you Clint and even cooler to find out my friend Kelsy photographed your wedding earlier this year and I’ll be photographing his brother-in-laws wedding next year.

I had the pleasure of meeting Denise this week and photographing her new headshot. When I looked outside in the morning I was dismayed as it was snowing but by 2pm it had cleared up and was actually quite pleasant outside to photograph Denise down at the zoo. The best part was that Linnea got to see her first REAL elephant close up as she was being taken for a walk. Here’s the headshot from Denise’s session.

I love the hands of the elderly and have images of my own grandparents hands. It’s something about the history of where the hands have been, what they’ve worked on and of course the deep lines and wrinkles. My mom works with the elderly full time and seeing her work with them and hearing her stories makes me understand and appreciate them even more.

This is the image of Marina’s hands that I liked the most.

I had the honour and privilege of taking Marina’s portrait this morning. She is 95 years old and a woman with such beauty and character. She’s simply lovely! This was our favorite portrait from the session as she speaks of such love through her eyes. You are a beautiful woman, Marina.

Thanks Melanie of Insight Eye Photography for taking my headshot this morning for my website. With two crying girls and trying not slip on the ice it was an adventure! Good thing we ended the morning with a cup of tea. Here’s the new shot that I uploaded to the about page on my website this afternoon.
