This past week we were in BC for a family funeral and wedding. Here are a couple shots I got of Linnea I like and some of the gorgeous fall colours that are around Abbotsford. I’ll post more from the week soon.

I’m backtracking a bit as I didn’t get a chance to upload photos from a day touring Christiana – a cool area of Copenhagen where they are known for bike designs (housing a cool bike store), drug dealing (no cameras allowed), co-0p housing where mostly professionals live (doctors, lawyers etc) and no one actually owns land. It’s a neat area to see and experience.

Here are some photos from May 18th and 19th…

Here are some images from May 24th – walked around a different area of Copenhagen and really enjoyed the new area we are staying in. The area is called Osterbro.

The red umbrella jumped out at me as we walked by.

I got a little behind in my posts and finally got a chance to view the photos I took from around May 20th before Perry and Sandra’s wedding. One of our favorite spots is in this fantastic grave yard…we’ve gone back several times and this time I grabbed my macro lens to take some close ups of the fabulous flora & fauna.

Fantastic shot of espresso from The Coffee Collective. Fun visiting with Linus there as well. He sent us to Koppi in Sweden...

For some reason I got a kick out of seeing this guy carry an old boom box/ghetto blaster on his shoulder. He's on his way to the park.

I recently purchased a new lens and I’m very excited about it! I got the Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens and had some fun today photographing my daughter’s orchid plant. This orchid is special as we got it the day Linnea was born from her great aunt and uncle. It’s a Swedish tradition to give a newborn baby an orchid plant and after the blooms fell off several months after she was born my husband continued to take care of the plant and it now has four new blooms! I love the vibrant colors of Linnea’s orchid plant and the intricacy each flower has.

Here’s an image where I added 2 or 3 different textures to give a different look and feel. I’d love to know what you think!

Here’s another image that I worked on this afternoon. It has the primary colours in it that I’ve entitled, “Primary Lines”. Don’t make fun of my titles…I’m tired and not very creative when it comes to naming my images. That being said, I will take other suggestions for titles.

I decided to keep working on different photos. I have a really bright and saturated version of this image but I think I like the more subdued version I created afterwards. This one is called, “Bricks.”

I appreciate any comments or critiques!

Yesterday I was in Chapters looking for the latest RangeFinder magazine and since they didn’t have it I decided to browse everything else they had. I picked up the Folios 2008 SilverShotz magazine full of amazing fine art photography images from last year. I then came across a magazine entitled COLOR. I picked it up and was immediately grabbed by the images within. This is the premiere issue which is why I had never seen it before. It’s a magazine for lovers of fine art photography, for collectors of fine photography and for photographers. I have only just sat down this morning to start reading it and I’m in love. I think a subscription to this magazine is a must and will be put on my birthday list for sure! I also picked up the Australian Vogue for new fashion poses and ideas for wedding and engagement photography. If you enjoy fine photography, go to Chapters and pick up the issue of Color. You won’t regret it! I am truly inspired and aim to work on my fine art images this year.

Here is my first image of the year entitled, “Stairs.” (not a very exciting title I know)
